Introduction to AMIS (Academic Management Information System)
Academic Management Information System (AMIS) version 1 formerly known as Integrated University System (IUS) was first implemented in Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) formerly known as KUKUM in 2002. The application is developed using Java web (servlet) technology. AMIS version 1 main functionalities include security module, student admission, course/program registration module, student profile module, student course registration module, unit exemption module and examination module. The UniMAP ICT team has been maintaining AMIS version 1 from 2005 until present.
In 2009, The UniMAP ICT team has taken an initiative to develop a new version of AMIS application which is based on a newer Java web (JSP) technology. AMIS version 2 main functionalities include security module, student admission, course/program registration module, student profile module, student course registration module, unit exemption module, examination module and convocation module. This system is used by the Division of Student Affairs, Department of the Registrar UniMAP and School of UniMAP.
The main objective of this system is to ensure all student information are stored in one database and will shared by other department such as Department Of Student Affair, Department of Library, Treasury Department and also The Residential College.
